On what template does the Tap Tempo button work? It seems to cause my bpm to jump all over the place. I tried tapping it 4 times with in one bar, then i used a two bar loop, and tried to match my sequence to that sample by tapping out the 8 beats contained in those bars.

Help! My sh*t jumps from like 38bpm, all the way to like 120.... what am i doing wrong? I always used my variation slider to match my samples if they were only slightly off (i was a DJ for 15 years before i started production 4 years ago... so this method came very naturally to me) But if i can get my tempo button to work, it will truly be a saving grace for timing sequences.

Thanks in advance.

I hate that tap tempo button - it seems so over sensitive. I used to have a Boss Dr Sample and I managed to match up grooves within a couple of seconds on that piece of junk :?

I know, it's ridiculous. I can't, for the life of me, find any rhyme or reason to the damn thing.... i tried 6 counts, 3, 1, 5, 9..... nothing.

I don't know how to use the tap tempo but for loops but it makes a helleva good arppegetor(I can't spell that word for nothing) not the one on a XP-60or any other keyboard but it's a very nice addition.....just my two cents....

If you're doing a 4/4 beat, do it on the 1, 2, 3, 4.. I can always get it within a few bpm of the correct tempo.

Make sure to switch tap averaging from 2 to 4, it will still jump a little but it won't be as drastic.

Well, for me.... it's just to match odd samples to my drums without varying the pitch too much. Example: I have this butter Charlie Mingus bassline that i'm f**in with and there's no real distinct count to it..... so basically, i just want to tap along with the bassline to get my drums to coexist. Feel me?

How do i use it as a note arrpegiator? I'm curious. Do i just tap it while playing the pads or what?
