Tr808 samples

go to www.tr-808.com for some nice 808 samples.

Yo man those samples dont work on mpc 2000. I have tried several times with no luck. Couple months ago this site was posted and i tried then with no luck. I have download many wav's and know how to load. I've used mpc editor with these wav's to make a program and still no luck.
Would be cool if the did.........

Don't ever load wav's into the MPC. That whole chop off the end thing is retarded. Convert to SND for sure.

I just auditioned these with windows media thru computer speakers..and i can already tell this will be going into my mpc.. i'll make akit using MPCEditor prgm!! Thx bruh!!

whats the difference between the 808 on the dr660 dr770 etc and the Real tr 808. I would assume they are the exact same sounds, but on the real tr808 you have knobs and a little wider range of adjustments and it has an individual output for each sound. on the dr 660,770 etc you can go in and adjust level,decay, pitch, nuance, pan. were on the tr808 i would assume you can adjust with those knobs realtime. I unfortunatly have never had the opportuity to use a real 808 but i do have dancemega drums that have real samples of the tr808 kind of like the ones on that site.

The sounds in the 808 are generated by analog synthesis. Meaning, among other things, that a sound never sounds exactly the same twice, and that sounds can be very dynamic. The other drum machines you mention just contain samples of the original 808.

Most 808 users will tell you that NOTHING sounds exactly like a real 808, and they're probably right. But I'm quite happy to just use a couple of 808 samples in my MPC and SP - it sounds different, maybe more static, but it's still a great sound, especially in the SP. Plus you can use processed samples, like a compressed or slightly overdriven or filtered kick.

If you have an MPC, a free 808 kit off the net will get you a long way, so if you don't make completely 808-based music a sample set really is all you need. If the 808 sound is more prominent in your music, and you want more realtime control but you can't afford a real 808 - get a s/h Novation Drumstation off eBay. You'll have seperate outs and 909 sounds too!

NOTHING can emulate an 808. I gave mine away YEARS ago but I still have access to it. LO-FI is on point.

I also owned an 808 for awhile but have since sold it. I think the software emulation, Rebirth, came mighty close but not exactly. The original box was all analog ciruitry, making it warm and bass boomey.

Anyone got an idea how to set up an 808-like boomy patch on a virtual analogue?

What kind of oscillators, pitch/amplitude envelopes, filtering, modulation to start with

I just want to make a boomy deep bass kick on my an1x, then sample into mpc

don't care if it sounds close to an 808 or quite different...

I have had 2 808 in the studio for a few years and have used another that was heavily modified. None of them sounded the same and they all have their own quirks (thus is analog).....

doesnt the mpc trim the last 30ms of all samples, and am i wrong in assuming that this is the same with snd's
