So I roll with the pimped out 2XL, 8 outs/Effects/MaxRam/MFC42, and my ace has the 2000xl as well but copped a 3000LE from GC for $1200. No how after he used 2000xl for last six months, he is no fan of 3k. Says its just to hard to work compared to the 2kXL. So he says he'll let me get it for $1200. Now what I'm thinking is here is a once in a life time opportunty to get a fresh to def 3000, but really I dont need it. but if I decide to get rid of 3K i can always ebay it and very possible get a come up?

this is a personal opinion, but as a 2000/ 2000XL user, I just can't step down to the 3000, and pay more for it. I really don't notice any difference in sound.. some say the 3000 has a thicker sound, but I don't hear any difference. If you just want the machine to have it, then get it, but I'd get the 2500 over the 3000... but since you already have an MPC, why spend more money on another one?

Sell them all and just get an MPC 2500. It combines the best of the MPC 1000, 2000XL, and 3000. You will not be disappointed..but it does cost alot.

i know i about to piss the 3k fanz off but i perfer the 2kxl.don't get me wrong the 3 nice and built like a sherman tank but, pound for pound the 2's screen iz brighter, the o s runs faster with pretty much the same features.i have both and i keep the 3 cause i only pd 900 for it but,i enjoy my 2k the best.

I bought a MPC60 that I got a good deal on. It had the Linn O/S upgrade, so it was very similar to a 3000.

I was always curious about them, and wanted that 12 bit sound.........but in the end, I was too used to the 2000XL O/S.

Using the 60 was really slow for me (mentally), and I didnt' relate to the way the O/S was set up compared to the XL. I eventually sold it.

Obviously, others swear by the 60/3000, which goes to show, it's all personal preference.
If the XL works for you, keep it, so you can always go back to it if the 3000 doesn't work out for you.

The 3000le is worth more and is a better built machine. It would take time to learn as it is different but the time would be worth it. I have a 2000XL , 60II and 3000 , I use the 2000xl and the 3000 equally but for a studio situation the 3000 will outshine the 2000xl. Not to mention 1200.00 for a mint le is a f*^$ing Steal!! You can upgrade the RAM to 32mb... check out www.mpc3000.com and look at the differences.
