classic 2k screen swap, with pics and tutorial

man im so scared just looking at the situation, if i flowers up and break my baby, im gonna flip out. I have the extra screen, but i just dont wanna flowers anything up taking the old one out (its got the lines going on lol)

anyone have any tips?

LMAO are you serious? They're PRO'S, they know what they're doing. You're obviously scared to do it so chances is you don't know what you're doing hence you being scared. LOL come on hommie.

id rather keep it the way it is (with the lines) then be without my mpc for any period of time.


I can see what i have to do from looking in my spare mpc (the one i use for extra parts), but like i said i was just looking for tips on doing it.

It can't be so hard. Just try, open up the MPC. You can always go to a pro if it ain't easy

yeah i saw the 2 wires, but i noticed the connections were tiny (the parts on the sides you have to push in to unplug the wire). Should i use a small tool for this?

I did it a long time ago
so i do not remember exactly
but from what i recall
they just slid off
use your fingers
if you have to use a tool
use an electronics type plyers
you know the small kind that looks like tweezers
just pull on the white plastic
and you will be fine

Since you have a spare MPC, open that one up and see how easy/difficult it is to put it back together. I bought a screen for my s-1000. The instructions said it was simple on the internet, so I copped it for like $29. All I had to do was buy a soldering iron. When I opened the s-1000 up, I got worried that I was gonna wire somethign up wrong, so I called a shop to fix it for me. I told the 'professonal' that I already had a screen, and he told me that I had the wrong screen, and that the correct replacement was $175, and another $150 to install it. That's a total of $325!! I only paid $250 for the sampler! Anyways, I figured, if I broke it, I would buy another sampler with a good screen. I tried it, and the $29 screen worked GREAT!! My point is, a professional is only a professional because they get paid to do their job. They want your money, so they will never tell you," ohh chyt.. replace a screen? that's a simple job.. I wouldn't pay me to do that." Try to do it yourself, and if it's simple, label yourself a professional and charge people! There are folks on here that are scared to install memory!

word up, ima do it. just gotta get those plyers or use something else in place of them

Doggie, I'm just tryin to help you, I'd hate to see you fry your MPC trying to replace the screen. I was giving u the safest most sensible answers. U seemed nervous about it in the first place so why risk your MPC. No hate, just wasnt the answer u wanted. Sorry bout that next time I'll just tell you what u want to hear not the best advice I got

cmon fam, it dont have to be like that. My post was asking for tips on replacing my screen, not what to do with my mpc now that it has lines in it. Ive lived with the lines for about 3 years now, but if i can fix it myself, i will.
