Would the classic mpc 2k be...

suitable for creating drum tracks in other music stayles than rap, hip-hop, or dance music. I'm talking about rock, blues, jazz, regge, and fusions of mentioned styles?
I have some cool single hit drum samples which I would like to step edit, like i have been doing with computer software. Would mpc 2k satisfy my needs?

Any MPC is perfect for programming drums in any style. Roger Linn is a good bloke but he's hardly Pete Rock or DJ Premier. If you need drums, an MPC will fit the bill.
