Already solved

I downloaded the latest OS for my recently purchased MPC 2000XL and loaded it. As soon as it finished it made some weird sounds and went inti a screen with lots of numbers and seq, run,step and memory, assigned to
F3, F4, F5 and F6.
I loaded the BIN. file.
WHAT DID I DO WRONG??
No everytime I turn on the MPC it asks for the floppy disk and it starts to detect memory and goes to the same display.
PLeasehelp cos´I can´t work no more.

I would guess that you had a corrupt OS update.

Redownload the OS file. Open the Zip file and extract directly to a new and formatted floppy. *****Do not extract to your computer's drive first.*****

Once booted, got to load screen and load the OS again to flash to memory.

How and where do you dl these Os's and do you load them everytime you use the mpc?

you can download on "akai.com" there is a section for os . then you don't need to load it every time you turn on the mpc ( well i don't know for the non XL model ) , it is burn on rom .
