Assigning samples to drum 1-4

How do I load 256 samples into the mpc2kxl? I have 64 samples already and when I go to drum 2-4 I have the same samples. Is there something I'm doing wrong or some setting I need to change?

You need to have 4 different programs, one for each drum, each with 64 different samples.
You can even have more than 4 programs and just call in the program into the drum with program changes.
Possiblities are endless

just got my mpc 2 wks ago and its all new to me ...but let me clear this up are u saying ican load 64 samples x 4 into the mpc200xl but I have to have 4 different programs?/??

What is programs

yep but as I said you have access to loads more by using program changes to call new programs into drums 1-4 as needed.

Programs are where you assign your samples to pads etc..
