That was cool, but it seemed and looked like he didn't even put the sounds on diff tracks. Maybe I only do that. Also, when he was laying down the high hat, he could have just held down note repeat. I'm assuming that does the same thing. Also couldn't he have just assigned the sounds that he was layering to one pad? I thought I heard him say he was going to do that, but I didn't see him do that. Maybe I'm just nuts.

No, that's pretty sloppy to record everything on the same track - it doesn't take 5 seconds to move your track down and keep things separate.

I also fear for his jog wheel - looks like he doesn't know you can use the note slider to edit samples in the edit screens.

some of it is quite good though - is there an entire video of this somewhere?

Now you're just being mean ...lol

He uses the slider, you just have to be watching him (right as they camera cuts whens he's very first trimming the beat down to the one bar he eventually copies)

I don't use my slide, though. It always screws me up cuz I got the start somewhere in the middle, the end is at the end of the sample, but then I go to use the slide thinking it will start sliding where my end point is but it doesn't, it's starts at the relative point of where the slider is. This screws me up too much, I'd rather go crazy with my jog wheel. Guess I'm just not right in the head

Not sure. I was searching one something for the Xl and came across it and started laughing at the thought of the guys from Screen Savers trying to do a tutorial for the MPC. I thought the video was exrtremely weak, but semi-informative for newbies.

When he made the comment about how it wasn't the elemental sampler in their studio, but a nice tool- i turned it off.

I've read some .txt docs w/ Roni Size on his MPC and got more knowledge than those vids. If I find anymore, I'll post them.
