Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I know the mpc can only read a certain about of gigs off a HD, but does it have a limiation on how fast it an can read a cd? Im lookin to a 40X external scsi cd rom.

The MPCs are a bit picky about which SCSI CDrom drives they will work with.
If you have a classic 2000, you need a 2x drive.
If you have a 2000XL you can use a faster drive (I use an 8x I think).

Try the 40x drive but, only if you can return and get your money back if it doesn't work.

The speed has nothing to with the compatilibty.

I have used 2x, 4x, 12x drives with the MPC2000. I am pretty sure I tested a 40x on a SCSI-IDE bridge.
