i don't have a keyboard so this is why iam asking...
but i do have my mpc2000xl kitted with 8outs, zip, max mem, and smpte
.
.
as far as hooking a keyboard to the mpc2000xl.... lets say i only hook the midi cables in the "midi handshake" fashion....

when i do this..... iam not expecting to record the actual notes in the mpc... because midi carries no audio just information... so when i go to record iam ... i just record as usual... and play my notes on the keyboard... [QUESTION #1..... as far as naming that track, how do you name it?...something like KTTNSX4 (it came from the korg triton and the sound used was saxaphone 4...or some shit like that)....]

[QUESTION #2.... when it comes to multitracking, since the notes weren't recorded directly into the mpc; you pretty have to leave that keyboard on, right?]

[QUESTION #3.... how does the 8outs come into play... when using lets say four keyboards into the mpc2000xl?]

[QUESTION #4..... or the 8outs best for effects?]
.
.
.
iam confused.

The 8 outs, just like the main stereo outs of the MPC only output internal sample sounds - your keyboard sounds have nothing to do with the 8 outs - they come out of the keyboard.
