is it tru that the mpc 2000 can only use 1gb of space from an external hard drive?
is there anyone out there that is using a hard drive with the 2000 that could help?
what kinda hard drive you got?
cause im looking 2 buy one but i dont recon 1gb will be enough memory 4 my samples

The 2K model could handle only a 1 Gig external SCSI harddrive.
The XL model can use a 4.5 Gig external HD. Some people have known to have used 6 and 9 Gig drives with the XL.

Akai website used to have a .pdf file that showed SCSI cd-rom drives but I can't remember if it had hard drives on there for the 2K.

No, it is not true. I've used several gig HD's with the MPC2000. The posted spec was wrong. (and still is wrong for the XL too).

Indeed, if you partition it you can address a whole lot more.

Is this true for Compact Flash card? I was about to buy 2 gig CF card....

I have a 9gb scsi hd on my 2kxl, 1 big partition.

2gb cf cards, u need to look into OS v1.20 - 2kxl.
Read up on it first.
