Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By sosueme1 Thu Nov 10, 2005 8:57 pm
I have had this MPC 2000xl for a few years now. It came stock and I have maxed it out with 32 meg, 8 I/O , FX card , and a zip drive. It has seen minimal use, but one day I turned it on and the first pad in the lower left corner died, and now the whole lower row has stopped working, I even updated the OS to the newest one hoping it might help. Does anyone know if there is a conflict with a card that can cause this? Loose connector? or just bad pads. If so does anyone know where to get a replacment set of pads?

check it out i just posted that my pads were not working. and i figured out why. if your familiar with electronic circuit boards check it.. open your mpc and double check your ribbon cable that goes from the pads to the the circuit board. unplugg it from the black latch. it has 20 pins make sure the pins are all aligned and look to see if there in the same position, also make sure that your cable is not dirty. also try to clean your ribbon cable with water and alcohol. if you need pics just holla at me.............
