Is there anyway to install a card reader with a usb port in the mpcc2000xl and use AKSYS software?

I want to the card reader as well, but I like the way the 1000 and 4000 can be hooked up to the mac and drag sounds back and forth. Jus being lazy I guess (lol). As for a new OS Im not sure.

Should be grateful that Mike gave us the MPCEditor, without it using the 60/3000/2000 familky of products would lose a lot of computer capability.

I would think that either a ZIP or MCD used with the MPCEditor would be enough, especially when you consider it requires nothing special and still works like a MPC.

And yes this was a plug for the software, if you have a 60v3/3000/2000 and a PC it pretty much a mandatory aspect to get the most out of your PC and MPC.
And I don't even like PC's

You should check it out.

If I remember correctly, I think I saw a scsi-usb adapter online before. I was out looking for ome zip disks today and I saw a 300gb hard drive for less than $200. A zip drive and a 3 pack of disks will cost you roughly the same, but look at the amount of storage difference. Makes no difference though, the XL can only recognize 4gb anyways. It would be nice if akai and other manufacturers could at least update the OS in their products to recognize additional storage space for future products.

Well SCSI drives are really cheap now so why add a point of problem into the situation with a converter?
Thge real aspect now is that the solid media is actually cheaper than ZIP disk now if you compare the size so going installing a MCD is a good move.
Just take a look at the prices, everytime they release a larger size they get cheaper and cheaper.
Since we now can easily find the MCD units that work for around $40, the overall aspect is real appealing.

Nah, I got 9gb scsi hd on my 2kxl.

But still that's not enough for some people so I see your point.
I haven't even used up to 4gb of it yet though.

Before you start celebrating I would do a little research on how they actually work before you get too excited.
