how do i have to start???

i started making beats with fruity loops... now i got me an akai mpc 2000.
it is cool, but i have problems to get things started. how can i start making beats best?

1) Read the manual.

2) Learn to use it.

3) Use it.

i know how feel, i remember the first time i opened up that box, hooking it up and saying what the? definietly read the manual. you should recognize a lot of terms from working with fruity loops. the main things are sampling, assigning samples to programs, and making sequences with those programs. thats the route. when you save, save the program and that will save the sounds with it, and save the sequence. other than that man, read the manual and stop talking to every one you know for the next 2 months and you'll be making tight ass mpc beats before you know it. when you start getting the hang of it you'll be able to understand the more advanced tricks some of the other beatmakers are talking about. it takes time though so be patient.
