HEY FELLAS CAN YOU HELP A GIRL OUT?

IT IMPRESSES ME HOW SMART U GUYS ARE....BUT I NEED HELP.... IVE READ AND READ AND....IT HAS HELPED BUT I SIMPLY NEED 3 QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE I FAINT......I BOUGHT THE MPC TO SAMPLE MY BEATS TO FATTEN THEM UP...TRITON DRUMS ARE SOFT.I AM TRING TO DUMP MY FINISHED TRACKS/SONGS FOM THE SEQUENCE MODE OF MY TRITON , TO THE MPC2KXL HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS....

1. DO I NEED ANY OTHER CABLES OTHER THAN THE 1 CHORD I HAVE FOR MIDI?--IN /TRITON (SLAVE), OUT /MPC---IF I DO WHAT ELSE DO I NEED?

2. WHAT ARE THE GLOBAL SETTINGS FOR THE TRITON? START TO FINISH....

3. HOW DO I RECORD?

I KNOW I AM A NOVICE WITH THE MPC BUT I AM LITERATE WITH THE TRITON SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I TAKE THIS MPC BACK....IM REALLY FRUSTRATED....

I'm not sure exactly what you want to do but from the sounds of it, you want to take a sequence from the Triton and send it to the MPC so it's not "soft".

If you expect to send audio through your midi cables, then that's your problem right there. The only thing that goes through those cables is performance data. (i.e at this point of the song play this note, pitch, velocity, etc. etc). Actual sound is still being generated from the Triton sound generator. If you want to resample the audio into the MPC, then you need to actually sample the sequencer. Doing this will convert the TS sounds through the A/D (analogue/digital) converters of the MPC and give it more of the MPC punch you want I guess.

Additionaly, as far as your global setting on the Triton, you want to set (local control off) and route the proper midi channels, if you want to control the Triton from the MPC. (keep in mind this is for performance stuff, not for sampling so it's gonna sound the same, just being triggered from the MPC). If you just want to sample, you don't really need to mess with the global settings of the Triton. Just send the audio to the MPC and sample it like anything else.
