SCSI hard drive

ok.. so i got a SCSI hard drive off ebay.. i wanted one because i heard that programs load faster off of a hard drive.. but i just saved a few of my programs from zip to the HD, reloaded from HD, and i notice No difference in program loading speed.. is there something i need to do to the hard drive, is there a certain trick to formatting it? please help..

in regards to formatting instructions, i didnt understand this note..
to quote the manual:
"note: the mpc2000xl is not compatible with the 1024K (or larger) sector sized MO disks."
what is an MO disk?

MO is a storage medium. To get nerdy:

Short for magneto-optical, a type of data storage technology that combines magnetic disk technologies with optical technologies, such as those used in CD-ROMs. Like magnetic disks, MO disks can be read and written to. And like floppy disks, they are removable. However, their storage capacity can be more than 200 megabytes, much greater than magnetic floppies. In terms of data access speed, they are faster than floppies but not as fast as hard disk drives.
