That dj shadow trick

you know that trick to cut a bit of noise off the end of a sample of say a snare hit and paste it back at the end of the sample? (kinda hard to explain) you know how he does that???really tryin to fill out my hits with some ambience to diminish that sampler decay...trying to make shit sound more natural...if anyones got any ideas?!?
