advanced problem with the song mode?!?

okay this is going to be a little complicated for me to explain (sorry for my bad english):

I chained serveral seq together in the song mode, like i always do.
my mpc 2000xl plays the whole song in the song mode perfect, but when i converted it to a seq, the seq won't play any sounds somewhere close to the middle.
I've checked every single seq which belongs to the content of the song, they all run perfectly. I also step-checked the complete song after the "break" and there are no events left. but just in the converted song!
i also tried to play around with content (the different seqs) of my song, just took the first half and then the second, but in the converted seq it always stops somewhere...!

I really don't get it...

Please help!!!

Did you change some pads around or change some programs around
after you converted the song to seq?

I've never had a problem like that. I don't move any sounds/pads or programs around at all. When I play my converted song it's always perfect.

i think i know what the problem is, i ran into the same problem a couple of times when using the xl ... if you're goin to merge different sequences, all tracks in each sequence must be at the same place as the sequence you are going to merge it with

for example:

sequence 1

track 1: drum program A
track 2: drum program B
track 3: midi device 1

and sequence 2 cant for example look like this:

track 1: drum program B
track 2: midi device 1
track 3: drum program A

and if you convert this to a song... (which is just a long sequence)... something is going to mess up if... say one drum program is trying to merge with a midi channel one of them is going to disapear...

so before you convert the sequences check all tracks, you can move them if you must.... i don't remember how i did that, i mean if the xl has a function to do that or if i just copyed the tracks into another tracknumber...

Yeah I see what you are saying. Yeah that would mess things up.

That's one of the reasons why I begin with a main seq with every
track named and set up how I want. THEN I start making copies of that main seq. Everything will be lined up and str8 like PSI said.

I always make my tracks on each seq match like that
I've learned that a long time ago.
