Mac Zip Disk Problem

Before anyone gives me a wise crack like "read the Zip drive faqs", I already have many times and this question is not answered.

I've been trying to copy my Zip disks to my hard drive on the Mac (OS 9.2.2) and I keep getting error messages like "__ file already exists cannot copy" or something to that effect. After I hit OK the Zip stops copying to the hard drive. When I go to check the backed up copy, many files and folders are missing.

Is it possible my Zip disk is corrupt? Or could it have something to do with the computer itself. Has anyone had this problem before in OS 9.2.2? Has anyone had this problem in OSX? Any info would be helpful.

i think its something to do with os 9,i had an older g3 tower with os8 something .scsi to the mac and mpc at the same time and no problems.now im on 9 and i cant do anything with the zip.makes me want to buy that tower back.
if anyone is getting it to work on 9 speak up.
i know i can get floppies to work but that doesnt do much good when you dont have a floppy drive

Turn- I was thinking that too as far as OS9. I'm going to try it on my computer at work which has OSX.

Okay, I tried copying a zip disk to my hard drive in OSX and the same thing happened. It kept giving me an error message stating: "The operation cannot be completed because an item with the name "sequence.mid" already exists". I noticed that each folder had an item in it titled "Finder.DAT", I'm assuming this is something the MPC drops into each folder because I've never put a file with that name anywhere on the disk. So what I did was copy each file separately instead of dragging the folders over to my hard drive. This seemed to solve the problem. Obviously this is a tedious work around for an operation as simple as copying folders, but I couldn't come up with a better method. If anyone else has experienced this problem, please let me know. I'm interested to hear what your work arounds are for this problem.

Well there is a way that can burn them to cd on your Mac in the MPC format.
Let me know if your interested and I'll type out the instructions in this thread.
