swing

im sure this issue has been discussed. i used the search, didnt find anything on the first 2 pages. is there a swing option on the classic.

by the way. my screen broke months ago. its still broke but i can slightly see through it. so im excited to be banging the pads again. i suck so much at reason

Yeah,they discussed it a few days ago.Makes sense to me.(I guess)

im still unsure what swing is. anytime i read anything about it, it was real technical. but some one tried to explain it to me in easy terms. they said it just gives u like a live drumers feel. offset the occasional upbeat note slightly, so that its not exactly perfect. like a live drumer. is this true?

in the music theory for drummers swing is the way you "groove" on the beat, for example a simple Hi Hat beat:

without swing it is a straight 4/4 Beat:


1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and so on


with swing it is for example:


1 ye2 ye3 ye4 ye5 ....


thats the way you count, understand? - I play drums but I can't explain it well

swing makes it sound more realistic as opposed to "mechanical"

Either that or turn the Quantize off.

Swing option on the mpc suck, you will spend hours just to find the good swing (approximative) the best way is to turn "off" the "timing",you play your own swing,with a real human feel.

I think that the option dont suck, its very clear. But its just easier to do it yourself with 'live' drum recording.
