help with multi-tracking....

iam multi-tracking in cooledit pro 2.0.... i got my mpc2000xl to sync perfectly

i already multitracked my kick snare and hat... perfectly...

i got more tracks to go... but iam stuck on the track in which my main sample is on... the thing iam noticing is that i used the 16 levels function on the mpc for that sample on that track.... cooledit doesn't seem to know how to record it?... its like the sample is way off tune... and it doesn't sound right... so my question is...


how can i get the midi info of the 16 levels function to be sent to cooledit or any other software or hardware multitracker i plan on using in the future?.....

please help i have a client that is buying this beat... and they need it multitracked....

make sure your sample rates match.

yeah.. they are both 25fps....

actually you need to check if cool edit is set to 16 bit/ 44.1 kHz. thats the sample rate of the mpc. the 25 fps is the rate that the clocks read in each machine to sync up.

yeah.. on the multitrack tab in the settings... in the field area where it says track record... its in 16bit stereo .... also when i get out of the multitrack to regular mode... i check what i recorded... and yes indeed its been recorded in 16bit... 44.1khz....

i figured out the problem....

my pc is a weak bastard.... and i can't have tracks previously recorded tracks playing while iam recording a new track from the mpc....

meaning...the already multi-tracked kick snare and hat in cooledit... should be muted while iam recording a new track... otherwise lag will cause the new track to be misplaced... well its actually my shit soundblaster extigy sound card....
