MPC 2000xl and 1000

sup guys... im amazingly close at getting an mpc...
i got my money saved up about 1000 canadian dollars
i could get off the bat a used 650$ CA mpc 1000 flly loaded
or i can get an mpc 2000xl at about 800 CA.. the mpc aint for sure tho cuz i cant buy it now... i have to wait for the bid to end...
i hadnt made up my mind up till a couple of days ago on wether or not i wanted the 1000 or 2000xl
im actually still having a hard time deciding...
if i dont get my mpc 2kxl i might do two things... keep saving up till i see another oportnity or buy the 650$ CA 1k
the rason ihave my heart set on the 2kxl is that its the standard in drum machines... u guys might say that the mpc 1000 especially with the new OS 2.0 comin out will be as good or maybe better then the 2kxl.. but it dont change jack... the 2kxl is still the standard jus tliek a technics turntable is the standard djing tool for spinning vynil.. there might be some machines that are better.. but the 1200 is still the standard tool
anyways guys after u guys read this messed up delemma im havin u gotta answer me this one question... shoudl i keep savin my money if i cant get the 2kxl at the budget i have now.. or should i buy the 1000
PS: i relaly need ure help this time guys... ive been saving for months to get to this... i dont wanna make a wrong decision

Decision, decisions. The MPC 1000 is a great buy at that price over the 2000xl. You got a nice website up. I'd like to build my own, but i don't know where to start.

thx home boy... very simple start planning what your gowal is for ure website... save up... find someone that knows how to make websites... and just go for it

Look deeper than just price, standard in drum machines and money saved.

You need to figure out which one of the 2 has the features you will need when producing, manipulating samples and such.

When you figure that out, you'll know which one to get. Either one is a GREAT tool an "empty canvas". Just don't get anxious and buy the first thing that pops in your head. Take your time cause these are not cheap toys, they are machines that cost some change and it will be with you for a long while.

I own both... I never use my 1000. Sometimes I get in the mood to use the lil guy, but as for "feel" I love the 2000XL.. or shiit even the 2000 classic over the 1000. The Pads are MUCH more responsive. And I like the feel of a bigger unit.. but damn OS 2.0 for the 1000 will blow away the 2000XL into the dust.. Get the 1000

i just baught my 2000xl... main perpous was the feel of the machine... and the deal i got for it...
the reason igot the 2000xl is cuz its the industry standard for akai first... second i heard if u aint a comuter freak and ure more of a hands on guy 2kxl is much better and last but not least...
i went to a muusic store and stayed there for an hour trying out the 1k 2kxl and the 2500... overall 2500 and 2kxl have the same feel but if i didnt get teh deal i got on the 2kxl i baught i would have baugh the 2500 cuz for a bit more money ure getting a lot more features... plus its a USB connection which is a goood advantage...
anyways let me know what you guys think... have i done my homeqwork right?

Yes I vote you made a good choice...

Although, if you are starting building a studio, the 1000 has better features as a sampler, and timestretches really fast.

But if you have any other samplers to complement the 2000, these features won't matter.

well the thing is im more of a dj going into production so i already have a decent record collection and a setup but production wise i am starting my own little studio and this is the first main production tool ive baught but lets just say i got the 2kxl at the same price as a 1k.... but thats actually a side note... i had my heart set on the 2kxl and the 2500... i wasnt concidering the 1k aftter i went to visit the music store cuz i really didnt feel confartable using it...i wasnt feeling the pads...
i know u shouldnt judge a book by its cover( dont know if i could use this terminology in this situation lol) but u get what i mean
