EMU MK6 for Hip HOP...have any knowledge on this?

I fooled around with this keyboard a bit at a local store and I was pretty impressed. Does anyone else have any knowledge of this or useful info to share on the item? JUst curious about what you think about the sounds and its functioning for a HipHop prod environment. Thanks-BsK

Don't spend the money. Go for the Mo'phatt module and save 2-3 hundred bucks. I owned a Mo'phatt. If your into the newschool sound, it might be up your alley. I chose the old.

most cats said mophatt is crap... cuz the sounds on it are "played" out ...as an overused on various songs heard over the radio....

that keyboard is just the mo phatt module just with a keyboard attached. I have the mo phatt card (in the proteus2000) and can say that I like it althought there has been a lot of it used. That can be said of any module or decent keyboard.

can't agree more.. if you take a little time and tweak them, they will be useful IMO. I would get one if i didn't have the sounds already, but the price would have to be right. PEACE

Does anyone know if this is also a midi controller keyboard? I assume so but not sure exactly how it interacts with the MPC or they are all sampled in the MPC and used that way. Gracias.

yes it can be used as a midi controller.

I think the shit is tight...For example most of the bobby digital albums were done with these sounds...And if you think the sounds are to common then just tweak em,or find something else...

The Keyboard does not cost much more than the sound module so if you are in need of a controller anyway you might as well get it. If you are hearing these sounds in "popular songs" on the radio and what not than they can't be too shabby. I agree that if you don't like them tweek them, but the module is definitely worth the money IMO.
