Drums Sounding Plastic, Putting a Beat together, completed

How do u make it so ur drums dont sound to plastic ? what is the best way to put a beat together on the mpc 2000xl, and easily? is song mode the best way? can someone guide me through it, thanks, also when uve completed beat on mpc, how do u get it to cd

Sample non "plastic" drums.

Step or realtime are the only 2 ways. Choose which is best and easiest for you. Probably realtime.

Song mode is to string sequences together.

I can but won't.

Get a vinyl cutter instead.

Dont know how drums sound "plastic" but how I put songs together is just recording everything on one sequence and just mute certain parts, then I track it out each instrument at a time in Cubase and arrange everything in there. Hope that helps. Peace.

1st - make sure you have good monitors, so you can detect how the sound of the drums are...if they don't match the vibe of the song, of course it wouldn't sound right

2nd - while you're playing the entire beat, go into parameters, and whatever drum sound is plastic, fix the tuning, even changing attack times or the frequency makes a diff. on the 2000

3rd - if you sequence it in a daw, some of the effects can make a wonderful diff. as well in the sound you put out
