Program & MIDI Hiccups

I'm using a Triton & 2000XL...

1) Sometimes during playback, a program will just fall out. The display switches from the Program I loaded (i.e DRUMS1 to New Program-A). Anyone know how I can prevent this from happening?

2) Sometimes, also during playback, my MIDI assignment will fall out.
The Triton will switch from the Triton Program I assigned to the track to the default Triton setting.

I'm thinking these issues may be related, but haven't been able to isolate it to one variable.

Any insight would be appreciated.....

Dumb follow-up question....

How can I eliminate the program change? Also, how is it created?
I'm not sure what I'm doing when I record a track that creates it.

Look for it in the step edit screen. Yuo can start by looking where the program changes. I think you can also diable program change sends for particular tracks. That is in the manual somewhere.
