PC / MPC file utility update?

Hey all,
I was reading not long ago that someone was working on a file utility whereby one could move around their files thru using a PC program. Does anyone know if one is out there or if this effort has been completed? There has to be a better way of managing files than the current scrolling necessary in the 2000XL as much as I love the machine. Any updates are appreciated as this would help bridge the gap between 2000 and 4000 which I hear does just that.

Try looking this. I use it alot on my 2kxl and I'm very satisfied. The scroll thing is a slow process and I hated it.. Now for me it's just drag wavs to an on screen mpc pad, save to zip and load to mpc2kxl.
I have internal zip on PC and MPC so it's easy.

I am actually trying to open new folders and the like so that I can drag and drop my files into easier arrangements rather than scrolling through hundreds of files. I.E....make separate program folders with corresponding sounds and sequences all contained, so that it is easier for me to maneuver around in the MPC and find what I want. I am trying to find a drag and drop file utility more so than an Editor for my sounds and isht...if you know of a way to help, holla back. Peace, BsK

I guess I can actually do that in Explorer...I thought that I had heard otherwise and was therefore afraid to try...I'll have to try this out and see if it all works....Thanks again...

...Okay, I guess this doesnt work, am I making any sense? I don't know what is up. I tried to manuever the files in explorer and now I am missing files and nothing got loaded...a potential costly mistake if I cant correct it. I am just trying to be able to make it easier to get around in my Zip disks when I use the MPC rather than scroll endlessly back and forth looking for isht....Am I just way unorganized or is there a utility out there that can help with this? Do you all have these problems? Sorry for being a f'in mess today, but this is driving me nuts now, exp since I may have f'd up my files because it is so damn difficult to find isht. MPC Editor is a program where u can drag and drop WAV SND onto the MPC pads on the screen. Download the trial, it lasts for like 14 days I think. U will love it so much. Email me at the crib and I can send you a screen capture tonigt when I get home and you can see how it actually looks. [email protected]

I have internal 250 ZIP on my PC and MPC2kxl. I use only Fuji 250mb ZIP disks. I had bad experiences with all other brands of ZIP disks. I use MPC Editor to edit/create PGM's then I save to ZIP and take it to my PC. I keep a library of all my samples on my computer so I just drag and drop or auto assign all WAV's in the current directory showing in MPC Editor and BAM I make PGM's in like 10-15 seconds. All banks filled and everything. You can right click on the pads, SETTINGS and setup the PARAMS also. Do the trial thing man, you wil probably end up buying the program, it's like less than $30. You can recieve you serial via email.

YO Lampdog I as considering getting that program. I have tried it but it didn't deem as easy as you make it sound . I don't have zip in my pc so i had to burn cd after i made the .pgms and some worked but others didn't . I think i'm gonna get a usb zip fi it is as easy you say. Holla

What exactly went wrong. I have no problems with Fuji brand ZIP disks. I had problems with every other brand though. Format the ZIP with the windows format and not on the MPC, that way the MPC can read it as a PC ZIP instead of MPC formatted only. remember to make copies of your ZIP on the computer so if something bad happens to the ZIP you can just recopy to your ZIP and nothing is lost.

The MPC is sensitive to the CD format and long filenames. Do not use the write-to-CD on the fly in windows. It is in UDP format and usually will not work. ISO9660 format from the CD writing software works great and always use 8 characters or less for the filenames.
