Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

The card readers sound like a good idea but why not just use an external hard drive? CF cards are pricey. I've been using a 1gb jazz drive for a couple of years but like a zip they start making those noises when they get full and maybe you'll have to reload the disk a couple of times before it can be read with no errors. I lost a whole disk once. 1gb is a lot of work. My point is I wanna get and external but I dont know what type or how many gigs can it handle.

classic 2k can only handle 1 gig. even if you buy a larger drive. go to scsi for samplers. they sell hard drives for tha classic 2k at around $85.

So it will partion the drive into 1 gig partions or just can't use the rest of the space on the drive?
