....care to elaborate??? I know it has to do with midi set up, I was hoping someone EXPERIENCED could break it down so I could understand....I 've been reading the manuals,sometimes it helps when someone who didnt write the manual explains it, if I were an "expert" on something I'd prolly have something more intelligent and helpful to tell someone besides "read the manual" whatever though.....

One last time.

MPC midi outA---->Motif Midi In

Make sure your in Multi mode on the motif, I think it might be called pattern mode

Do u have a midi keyboard? If so

MPC midi in #1----> Midi Keyboard out

Plug the the motif into your mixer so u can hear the sounds

In the mpc when u want to use motif sounds do it like this
track 1 mpc change it to device 1a in the motif go into pattern mode and the first part. when your done with the first part change to mpc track 2a
change tracks on the motif so your in the second part and pick sounds to record. and so on and so on.

On a side note. If u want to adjust the volume of your sounds from the motif, YOU CANT USE THE MPC MIXER, you have to use the mixer on the motif

maybe there is an internal option ( motif ) to send arpeggiated notes to the midi outs. i know my waldorf xt has this, and it is on by default. but i use abletons arpeggiator and merge the patterns down to midi files, before they get re dumpd back into the mpc.

go into UTIL and assign the arps to a channel---we'll say midi channel 15 on TRACK 2. When you record on the MPC you always need to have the sound you're using on one midi channel--say BASS on channel 2 on TRACK 1----AND you still need to have midi channel 15 ON track 2

It was quite a B figuring this out but I thorogly went over the manual and did. if you know how to edit the user programs PLEASE feel free to share because I haven't touched my ES in months.
