hi guys...
i'm really troubled and hoping someone can straighten some stuff out for me.
now, my live setup for my sequences is a mpc2000xl and digi002 (i just use it as a standalone mixer on stage).
i have the 8-outs card in my mpc2000xl as well, but i only use four of the outputs:
1 and 2 are used for my loops for my sequences, and 3 and 4 are used for the sounds i trigger on the pads (i do this so that i can raise/lower the volumes of the loops and sounds i'm actually playing if i have to).
here's the thing.
i'm not sure whether to put the four outputs from my mpc into the 1-4 inputs of the 002, or the 5-8 inputs.
what would be better/more efficient???
a lot of my questioning also has to do with inputs 5-8 as well.
i know u can choose either -10dBV or +4 dBu, but what i can't figure out is:
what's the actual difference between them?
i mean...when i switch the setting, all i know is that one's louder than the other, but i'd like to know when to have it on the correct setting, what it really does...ya know?
how would i know which setting to have it on??
also...what IS the operating level for the mpc2000xl anyways?
if someone could please help me, i'd greatly appreciate it.
thanx so much,
_chris
