Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By PeanutsMcGee58 Mon Feb 13, 2006 11:25 pm
Hi everyone, new member! I've scoured the message boards before posting this, so hopefully it isn't somewhere on here. I'm a new MPC user, so this may be old hat for some of you....

My question(s):

A) I have a SCSI external CD ROM drive, and it is registering the AKAI disc's being loaded, but when I hit the "open window" button, and it shows the folders, but when I push the right cursor, it doesn't open anything. It doesn't show anything as even being there beyond the initial folder title. Does anyone know why this is, and how to correct it?

B) Same as above, but it doesn't even acknowledge some of the other sound sample discs I have, even tho it seems as if it is loading. They are in .WAV format, so I'm stumped on both accounts. Any idea's on these two questions?

Thanks!

Anyone have any idea about loading the CD ROM discs, and what my problem is? It shows the folders, and folder titles, but when I hit "open window", it just shows folders, and nothing in them. I don't know why it does that.

In the manual, on page 16 and 17, it says to load, and then open the window, and I'm following it step by step, but somewhere in those steps, it isn't working.

I'm at a stall, basically. Any help or ideas would be MUCH appreciated.

like Issues said, you gotta have the file type set as the type you are looking for and they will pop up

OR you can just set it to ALL FILES

and you will see everything in the folder regardless of what file type it is.

I should have caught your name before, I would have placed you in the
"newest registered user is:"
thread.

Welcome to the forums.

Issues, thanks for the sarcasm. I appreciate the suggestion, but I've read all of that.

Lampdog, thanks for the info, and thanks for welcoming me to the thread. Unfortunately, I'm still having problems, even set to "all files". For some reason, it is still not showing the data and file size, when it shows the the folder name. I've matched up all the media settings in the MPC with the one's of the disc's media, and "all files", and the results have been the same. If you have any other idea's, I'd definitely appreciate hearing them. Thanks!

Lampdog,

thanks for the help; I ended up downloading the updated operating system, and that worked to correct the errors.

It's good to go!
