Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I updated my O/S to the v1.2 accidentally, and now my zip disk won't read at all. I don't have an external Zip, its internal. Is there anything I can do to downgrade to the v1.14 O/S seeing as the v1.2 is only for MDC?

get and external zip drive with os1.14 or install an internal cardreader.

Is there any new funktions in os 1.2?

I wish they made it possible to hear sequence in sample mode, so that you could hear youre song while you sample... like the 2500, and real pitch, and normalize.

Its all about the os.

v1.20 basically enables you to use larger sized cf cards (+1Gig) without the need to divide it in smaller partitions.

So, there is no reason to upgrade other than the ability to read larger CF cards? Any known bugs that 1.20 still has unresolved? I might just stick with 1.14.

1.20 makes it so that storage medium (Zips/Cards/etc) that are formatted on the MPC are readable by a PC.

I hate 1.20, it crashes way too much. I upgraded, reformatted some Zips so I can use them in my PC, then downgraded back to 1.14. MUCH more stable.

i have a 512mb lexar card.
cf reader in my 2kxl.
os 1.14 is stable, I'll stick with that.
I've already had my 1.20 troubles, never again.

If you're having crashes with 1.20 then the flash has not performed correctly.

IE: the old boot-block startup and machine initialisation code is still present and in conflict with the new OS segment that has been flashed.

Typical of a flash update performed via the usual methods from disk.

I hear what your saying, but I don't think so, I installed it more than once and still had my XL crash at least once a week. Went back to 1.14, and unless I try to crash it, it doesn't crash.

I'm not the only that thinks so:
