Sampling before the sequence starts

Hello Fam,

Here's the question. I need a sample to start about 2 seconds before the beat drops. When I record the sample to play it back with the sequence the sample is either off or not there at all. I want this sample as a part of this sequence. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace "Chef"

So why not make a longer sequence? add an extra bar or two in the beginning. Thiers no rules in music

Or just chop the sample into smaller parts

record it in its own sequence. make the seqeunce like 1 or 2 bars...

is the timing on or off?

I forgot to add that the sample comes in about a second before the beat drops. So when I record the sample it gets chopped off. I will turn the timing off and see what happens.

make a 1 bar insert BEFORE the main seq.

record NOTHING into that bar except the beginning of the sample that you are speaking of.

If your main seq is 4 bars then procedure will make it 5 bars.
From then on when you need the sample triggered you'll need to record it
and then end of the preceeding seq so that it will play into the next bar (the bar where the meat of the sample is supposed to play in).

Same thing, I'm sure you've done it before, I have to.

I just broke it down a bit.

make another sequenze, just 1 bar, and pitch it up until the sound loops perfectly, then you can play this sequence before your main sequence as a intro or whatever youre going to use it for..
