Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So, my most recent Zip disk wont read-MPC just wont pick it up. Works with other disks, so not the drive (I hope). guess this'll teach me to back up.

Anyhow-does anyone know of any PC/Mac utils that can get the data (or as much as poss) of a knackered Zip disk?

Cheers,

Si

BadCopy Pro. Not sure how well it works though. Is the disk MPC or FAT formatted?

your more likely to run into issues saving mpc data onto pc formatted disks..

cheers, trying BadCopyPro demo now, we'll see. I format my disks in the MPC, so MPC format I guess. I'll not pretend to understand all of that stuff fully!

thanks,

this prob wont help a lot but id recommend getting rid of the zip drive & putting a flash card reader in instead, i personally have had nuthing but probs with my zip drive ever since i got my mpc, check through sum older threads theres a lot of info bout other ppl going thru probs with their zips & chucking a flash reader in.

on a possibly more helpful note, is the prob that u have sum stuff saved on a zip disk but now u cannot retrieve it on ur mpc? if so have u tried putting the file on ur computer & then chucking it on a different disk? prob not a very helpful response sry

i always save things on2 my computer as soon as ive backed it up on my zip
