Of your MPC....

How do you care of your MPC?? How do you clean yor baby? Do you put a shovel over your mpc if your finished, do you use a vacuum cleaner to clean it?
And how do you take care with friends or your girlfriends? May your friends touch your mpc may they smoke in your studio drink etc etc...

About every three months or so I open it and blow it out with a can of compressed air you can get from about any computer store. I put her back together and then take a peice of an old cotton t-shirt with VERY little soap and warm water and rub the outside and buff it clean.

Every day or so I just do over it with that same dry old peice of cotton t-shirt. It's soft so it doesn't leave any scratches or anything.. You know just to keep the dust off cause I don't have a plastic cover..

I am not scared of breaking anything actually. My girl knows not to put anything on my gear, mpc2kxl, triton or ASR10. She knows it's illegal in my crib to disrespect the gear like that.

My girl knows that's the only in this world I live for so she will not touch it.
I don't even have to ask her not to touch she just leaves it alone anyway cause she has seen me get raw with my boys about drinking and smoking near/around my equipment. I have actually ended friendships over my gear. My gear should be respected just like another person. I go ballistic for real.. I have had one gu actually spill a beer on my red ASRx-Pro a while back. It was fine but I later sold it for a 2kxl..

i take alittle towel and just dust it off and clean the screen, i use my mpc quite frequently so she stays cleaned most of the time,

yo i get pissed when my wife be fiddling with her, my wife kno's that my gear is fist and she is second this was told to her at the begining of our relation 8yr ago.

music is my first love IT NEVER LETS ME DOWN. it never goes away, and it never complains.

oh yeah i got a sign up in front of my set up that says:

NO FOOD OR DRINKS
ON OR AROUND THE
STUDIO.

and thats hard in my house cuz my studio is in the living room.
i live in a small A$$ appartment in the ghetto.

U too, hahaha. My MPC is sitting on my living room table and my triton sits on the dining room table. I take them off sometimes when I have big bbq's and junk. The bedroom belongs to my ASR10. This way I have music wherever I go in my crib. I got a 1 bedroom bought to move into a 2 bedroom. I know how you feel...

I don't have the room to correctly MIDI everything like I really want to.
I will soon though, along with that Cable Modem to download sounds bytes off the web..

Oh, did this just go from how to clean your MPC to how f'ing important the gear is compared to humans or what! I feel y'all. Muthaf***ers come in the crib and wanna ash a blunt on the table and s%#t?!? Uh Uh homey, use the ashtray.
I want to get a static-free vacuum; they're used for cleaning camera equipment, so it should be propper. Does anyone know if it's safe to use an ionizer (Ionic breeze) in the studio, around all the equipment? That would keep most of the dust off the surfaces and out the gear.

yeah it wasn't cuz of the music it was the space she was trippin on .
my son was learning to walk so i took it down now i can't get him off my gear sometimes , he pulls up a chair and starts bangin away .

i have to ask him to let me get on sometimes he's only two but even he knows that the mpc is papi's baby.

He knows how good the gear is and he wants to produce man.
He's trying to be like daddy no doubt.. Go to radio shack and buy him a small inexpensive keyboard and let him jack that all up and he will be happy, or toy-r-us with the plastic kids keyboards you know what I'm saying. Later on in life he can get an MPC and really get down to bizness.

You might very well have a future producer on your hands..
