By blacksadness Sat Mar 04, 2006 5:33 am
Whats up my name is Blac & I was wondering how I could hook my O1W-FD & my Triton Le both to my Mpc 2000 and have them both usuable for production.

Thanks

there is a diagram in the 2k manual that shows the cabling for external gear connected to the 2k.

Have you seen it?

**EDIT**
after i posted first i changed my mind....

if you have the 2000xl you can control one synth on busA .. and the other on BUSB (use the handshake method for both synths)

Triton OUT to MIDI IN 1
MPC OUT A to Triton IN

O1W OUT to MIDI IN 2
MPC OUT B to O1W IN

Remember where each is b/c when u get in the sequence screen u will have to chose either MIDI 1A or 1B depending on which keyboard sounds u wanna use first.

MPC2kxl MIDI settings are as follows (generate MTC):
Shift + 9
MIDI SYNC OUT (A)
Frame Rate 25 (for CEP/AA) *some will argue 30 but I've found 25 to work better than 30 did even though 30 is the U.S. standard.
Send MMC ON

CEP/AA MIDI settings are as follows (trigger from MTC):
F6 – Midi trigger enable
F7 – SMTPE Slave enbable

-----

Acid Pro 5 (Master Sync) w/ MPC2kxl
Generate MIDI Timecode = F7 *turns on/off*
Options, Preferences, MIDI tab = choose MIDI port for generating Timecode.
Options, Preferences, SYNC tab = SMPTE non drop 30 frames per second.

Vegas 6 (Master Sync) w/ MPC2kxl
EXACTLY the same as Acid Pro 5 (menus are EXACTLY the same)

Sound Forge 8 (Master Sync) w/ MPC2kxl
Generate MIDI Timecode = F7 *turns on/off*
Options, Preferences, MIDI/SYNC tab = Use drop down menu for MIDI port choices.

MPC2kxl (slave)
MIDI in 1.
MIDI MMC = receive off
Frame rate 30

----------

Acid Pro 5 (Master Sync) w/ Triton Extreme
Generate MIDI Clock = Shift+F7 *turns on/off*
Options, Preferences, MIDI tab = choose OUTPUT DEVICE for generating Midi Clock settings.

Vegas 6 (Master Sync) w/ Triton Extreme
EXACTLY the same as Acid Pro 5 (menus are EXACTLY the same)

Triton Extreme (slave)
MIDI in.
Global, Midi (pg1), MIDI Clock: External MIDI.
Checkmark the "Receive Ext. Realtime Commands".
Checkmark the "Local Control ON".

----

Maybe some of that will help you out in your setup/config..
