Just got an MPC Basic Questions

I just won a bid on ebay for my first MPC 2000XL and wanted to know if i could have the external zip drive and the cd reader working at the same time and if so how? Also is it possiable to connect the MPC to a computer and record into like cakewalk or pro tool and if so how? Any other tips or anything would be extremely helpful like a place to get good beginners advice on basics.

of course you can do all of this. the xl is just great!
you can use up to 6 (external) SCSI devices. to record on computer, just connect the cables to your soundcard.

my advice is to read the MPC tutors tutorials on: Sequencing and sampling. THEN read the manual. The Tutor will show you the basics of manipulating the mpc, then read the manual to "flesh it out"
