VEL SW & DCY SW ???

Is anyone using these functions? What good are they for in practic? Anyone got any tips & tricks on these ones? I've never used these, i don't know what the hell they're for. And yes, i've read the manual, but there r not any tips there ;)

you can use them for any percussion. i use them for hi hats mostly. the softer the velocity, softer the attack and longer soft start.
