Sample disc that has MONO files instead of Stereo?

So check it, I bought a Drum Sample Zip disc on Ebay .... *I know I know, crucify me later* lol

The disc actually has some nice kits on it, but for some reason, they are tracked as MONO files. (Atleast I think they are)

When I go to the mixer and try to send each pad to its own out put(Pad 1 = Output 1/2, Pad 2 = Outout 3/4), it only gives the option to send the pad to one of the out puts(left or right) and not stereo(1/2 3/4, etc)

Have you ran across this before?

when a sound is mono it will allow you to send out output 1 instead of 1/2.

if that same sound was stereo it would say 1/2 on the mixer output instead of just 1.

If you want you can convert that same sound that is mono to a stereo sound and the output will then say 1/2, 3/4, etc....

Why would you want a mono sound to be sent out as a stereo signal? With the exception of some percussion sounds or some live drums that were recorded as "stereo" (usually with an extra mic to capture the room), the majority of drum sounds are mono. Thus, many drum sample sets from anywhere will basically have mono sounds. And many of those that do have "stereo" samples (particularly kicks and snares) are really just dual mono, as the original signal was likely fed to a stereo output and sampled from there (i.e. both "sides" will be identical).

All good. I figured it out. A-Sharp hit it right on the head. I converted each stereo sound to mono. This allowed me to put each individual pad on its own individ output. Allowing to actually send out 8 tracks as opposed to 4 stereo files. Good looks though guys!
