reggae/ dancehall and mpc

ppls, tell me does anyone in here do regae/ dancehall, that is what i produce mainly, along wid some hip hop seen, but i was never really into sampling no reason no disrespect seen. wid dancehall, you tend to play everything, if you listen to sly and robbies stuff, they use an mpc. the thing is i cant afford to buy a proteus, or any module for the time being, so i was wondering if there was anyway of having like syth sounds in the mpc, played not sampled. i got drum programs, bass brograms, percussion pgms, and one syth pgm, that i play from my midi keyboard, (4 pgms the mpc is full) can i actually use like cubase, play a phrase in there ( pc got one million and one sounds to choose from) say for 4 bars at 94bpm, save it as a wav file, then export via zip to my mpc? will it actually loop smoothly, with my played drum track

sorry to interrupt... are there any good sites you'd recommend i can go to .. to learn how to make dancehall beats?

i do a little dancehall.... mostly i sample riddims and put em in some ragga tracks.... and xkwest if you go to ragga-jungle.com forums and ask theres some real cool cats that will help you out

the first music i ever produced was dancehall...i would make loops
and let people spit [dj] over them live while i used killswitches and
track mutes effects ect. recording onto a tape deck.....

you have lots of [korg]triton in riddims....i know that from seeing it.
sly and robbie use all kinda sh*t though.
i have a mp7 also [emu] its got nice sounds...i use alot of em.
samples are fine for dancehall in my opinion.

snap.
808 bass..or NICE bass hit.
nice kick.
sharp snare.
tick or tapping sound.
as many drums as possible...lol
and synth or organ or keys ect...easy.

listen to some of the riddims..they arent THAT complex-its the vibe
that you get from them that makes em special to me.

ive heard some great dancehall stuff recently, after being given a pile of TERRIBLE compilations, that were just so repetitive and annoying it drove me nuts

dug out some goodness and know im respecting the craft. have taken on a few techniques from dub production too since reading into all that.

god damn what a vibrant culture came outta that scene. im no fan of all this "rude boy" shit but the Art of the scene in that region of the world... damn... such a bitter sweet history!

mr basebone, i am taking your thread quire personal, i am actually picking a bone with you. it is people like yourselves that $£^&%£ the music culture scenes. to start off with, because you grew up in westmorland ole bloodclat country bwoooy, wid a WASH PAN SOUND, and you supposedly used a sample and loop it DOES NOT COINCIDE THAT DANCEHALL USES SAMPLES YU BLOODCLAT RASS. and you took it out of rass context, which where i was referring to rap music. by the way what year was this, cause if you were doing that, then we all in this forum should be reading bout you, cause as far as i remember, no one usually looped they just played the b side of the records which are the versions (instrumentals) and the dj would spit over it,the kill switch was used to mute the bass, and ride the riddim 1 2 or one drop style , if you even know what that is, and what the f*****************k you talking bout track mute, helllloooooooooo you know we aint got no hole heap of equipment down in the endz, especially down in country, what you going to do TRACK MUTE A F**********k(*&r%e%£&$£&% LOOOOOP WHICH WOULD USUALLY BE ON E TRACK ON A DJ MIXER, WHEN YOU COULD JUSE USE THE VOLUME ON THE CHANNEL, AND MIX IN THE HOME MADE SOUND EFFECTS. also if you are going to track mute, the riddim would cut off too sharply, hence you use the volume and ride it , hence the term.
