heya guys
just thought id mention i recently installed a 100meg ZIP into my MPC2000XL without a hitch
if youde like i could write an article on it thats a "response" of sorts to the lovely one here at mpc-tutor.
those directions are perfect but i thought i might add another persons experience installing the Zip to give another perspective on the process and possible problems.
in any case, its made the MPCs i have that much more enjoyable in my studio and thankfully cut down on the amount of wall-warts plugged into power.
the only annoyance is the _noise_ of the internal zip sometimes when it sits idle. i have to eject the disc to stop it from humming at high pitch intermittently. i have yet to isolate the conditions of this effect but its not a problem, just a mild annoyance when im lying on couch with headphones.
the MPC in the studio (rack mounted/angled) doesnt have this problem. go figure.
