keeping beats digital

Kinda new to mpc2000xl, but do I have to output my sounds through the stereo out ports on my mpc? I don't have a hardware mixer, and I feel like there should be a program that takes my sequence/song files (with the sounds) and gives me the beat I created, so everything stay digital up to the point where I mix it on my pc.

you have to use your outs

the only way to keep your beats strictly digital is to record from the digital outputs of your mpc to a daw. (this means you'll need the output expansion board if you don't have it already)

hi, yes you can skip the whole thing with the analog recording. u can transfer your beats digital (not using S/PDIF ) :
1. assign the note numbers to the pad in the correct order starting with A1- 35, A2-36....A4-38 and so on.
2. save your sequence.
3. load Cubase SX
4. load Battery
5. open your sequence in Cubase it opens it in a great way, with all tracks in different colours and so on. realy cool
6. assign all tracks to Battery
7. assign all your samples starting from note number 36 in Battery
8. hit the play button
9. you get the battery unlimited possibilities for EQ,FX and so on as bonus

Saving a midi file on mpc is not an audio file.

mitja, why not use battery in the first place, and use the mpcs pads to trigger them via midi.

VIA midi, that's what I was getting at.

nanoloop u are technically absolute right. . . but there are also times . .. you go home and all you wanna do ist push that power button not messing with all thad pc and midi stuff
