TRIM

Am I being daft or can I not do what I want to do here which is to hear the sound BETWEEN the start and end locater
I see you can select all the sound regardless of start and end
zone - which plays the range between the start and end GREAT! thats what I want, but oh no! it just selects a part of the sound and I cant extend the end beyond that.

I am sampling a brass section from a funk album and wanted to sample a riff, I cant seem to be able to do it the way that I would like as above, could you advise me what I am doing wrong?

get outta zone mode and use the regular trim mode.

highlight the portion you like, then edit to new sound.
assign that new sound to a pad.. play the pad and enjoy.

cheers I have done that but again I am facing the same problem, I used a mpc1k before this and I could do it on there, but I cant seem to play from a regular start- finish like you would on cubase.

I can play all including the parts I dont want
zone
before st
before to
and after end.

Just hit the any pad when in sample edit mode to play the highlighted region. Took me a while to figure that out too!

done it, doh how do you assign to the pads? I cant find it in the manual

Go into program edit mode. Hit the pad and assign the sample to the note. It is in the manual.

just checkin,

I am holding down shift and program (No 6)
I then get a screen saying "please select a drum program to edit
drum 1, 2, 3, 4 I hit 1 and get to the assign page i go to pgm and roll the data wheel
but this has no effect, or when i assign their is no sound
so far I have sampled a brass section pluss BD SD HH OH and some od bits & pieces,
I cant quite figure out from the manual page 113 what I am doing wrong

sorted it!

bass drum sounds gated, all the points are correct, what could this be?

turn note off mode to mono, in the params for the BD

cheers I shall browse the manual and check how to do this, must admit I have been sampling in stereo.

nothing wrong with sampling in stereo.
