90 bpm

my sounds when played back sound a bit staggered or should I say gated.

I wonder if its because the bpm of the record is 90 and I am making beats at higher BPM?

I shall check the threshold. its a new sampler (mpc) but with other samplers I have always been tempted to just play off sample cds rather than dig for sounds outa records.

I don't think timestretch is going to help.

The bpm I don't think is the problem.

There's nothing wrong with sample cd's. Good samples can come from anywhere. Do both, records and sample cd's if you like, there's no rules.

gated, maybe you should try the mono/poly/note off thingy in the manual.

chapter 7, pg 126, try all three settings while pressing a pad and find the one you like, maybe that's the problem. Someone told you this in your other thread didn't they?

btw i was not dissing sample CD's there are some great ones out, but I am saying that I am trying to learn to sample off records that all,, didnt mean to degrade CDs
