2xl into firewire 1814--no 8 out expansion

pleasure to amongst mpc experts...i need some help. I've been saving my work on zip disks for a while. i finally copped a firewire 1814 secondhand. i want to record tracks from the mp into ableton. i don't have the 8 out expansion. can i connect the stereo l/r into the analog 1/2 inputs or would i go in through the mic connection?
i tried using the search function first but i didnt have any luck. thanks

the stereo outs to the LINE IN. Why use Ableton for recording? Jus curious.

i feel comforatble with live. its like a notepad. get different ideas down quickly. i'd like to learn pro tools m powered but you can feed a baby steak,nah mean?
