I started out on the barebones model mane and while its fun getting started, its gonna irk the flowers out of you really fast....first thing first...cop yourself one of them there internal zip drive joints mane...and remember- I said internal ide with the ide kit....waaaaaaay too many folks are having problems trying to get them there external scsi joints set up mane so if this advice will prevent you from cluttering up the boards with "arrrrr matey! i cant use my 250 scsi zip" then its well worth it, scrait up, yow mean...this will at least let you get comfortable with with making sequences and stuff without having to waste time swapping out discs when you wanna hear your stuff again...its really embarrassing having to swap out damn near 20 disks just to let your boyz hear a beat.......that'll get you by at least another 6 months or so while you get the feel for your machine....then cop that 32 mb too...you'll want that up front too......you wont need it right away and I know alot of cats that refuse to step up to the 32 but it helps by giving you lots more sample time and a bit more processing when it comes to resampling and timestretching....as for the fx card....they're becoming quite scarce and I was fortunate to get one wheni did....I say cop one and then sit on that mug until you're ready to install it yourself....its not hard to use and while its not a lexicon....its very fun and inspiring to use.....the 8 outs is when you're ready to hit the studio to mix down your beats......I say cop one too and sit on it till you're ready, mane..they're a bit scarce too...
