Sold the 1000 copped a 2000xl HATE ON ME NOW!!!

Haha, after thinking about for like 3 months i finally decided to make the "downgrade". And to me it's the best ever! I sold my 1000 for the price i bought it with, and copped a 2000xl with 8 outs, fxboard and 32mb with cf reader.

I really needed 8 outs and mtc/mmc so this would be the best option for me. I felt the 2500's knobs and must say they don't feel at all like the 2000xl. the 2kxl feels more stable/tuffer.

I copped a s6000 with it. I will only use the mpc to sequence and arrange my beats. And i only load drums in it. The rest i will be doing with the s6000 sampler. So the 32 mb memory isn't to small at all. Cos my biggest FULL beat on the 1000 was like 21 mb!
Yes it's a little bit slower, but like i said, i will be doing the cutting, fx etc on the sampler and mixer. So that's not a problem neighter.

This is no dis the 1000-2500 post, cos i loved the 1000. No bad words about that little monster! But to me it seemed better for my working methods.

So don't hate, i just wanna share my exitement hahaha! peazls

And i KNOW switching gear doesn't make me a better producer. That's why i copped gear when i knew HOW to do it... The mpc is the tool i use to express my creativity, not to create my creativity...

I'm considering doing the same switch - from 1000 to 2000XL-MCD. What features do you miss from the 1000, and what features do you like about the XL? Is it much slower than the 1000?

it isn't really slow the cf cards work pretty fast.
I work with an sampler and only do the sequensing on the mpc, except for the drums. The drums are the only things i load into the mpc so for the memory it isn't noticable to me. All samples etc are triggered with midi channels.

For effects, i have a digital mixer with fx and the sampler to + a fx module. So i never used the 1000's fx and ain't missing them.

One thing that's a downgrade for me is the number of programs there are. Only 4... But to me it's ok cus i almost never use more anyway (otherwise the program change numbers work to).

One big advantage to me are the 8 outs (so i can use 8 analog for drums & 16 adat for the sounds and samples from my sampler into my mixer).

another advantage is the size of the pads the screen and simply the size of the thing. I can lean and hangover the 2000xl... wouldn't trie that with the 1000. That's increased my workflow.

It's all up to you, you gotta try before buy If u only use the mpc for sequensing and drum loading like me, u won't have so much differences.
But if u only work with an mpc without additional sampler or stuff, u will need more memory... i guess.... But i have to say my biggest beat i've made on the 1000 alone was like 17 mb or sumthin. But again, it's up to ur working method.
