Hey yall, I just installed an MCD in my 2000XL, loaded a compact flash card with files from an old zip and when I put it in my PC card reader is gave me an "error" message. Anyone know what's up with this? It kills half the reason why I bought it if I can't transfer files to the comp.

What os are you running on the MPC ? If you're using os 1.14 and you formated the card on the MPC then I must say that this situation is perfectly normal. You should either upgrade to os 1.20 or format the cf card on your computer (FAT 16 if I'm not mistaken).

Yep - exactly. And now the card can't be recognized in my comp for whatever reason. I'll install the newest OS and see how that goes. Thanks for the help.

Too late...

It's a 128 Dane-Elec card. Only way I've been able to get files from the comp to the MPC is with an SD card so far. I've still been getting the same error message even after installing 1.20.
At least the SD is working. That might just be the way I have to go.
Something tells me it's the card itself though. It came bundled with the MCD from VST. I was planning on getting a bigger CF card but want to make sure it works before I do. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just to make sure; did you reformat your cf card on the MPC once you had os 1.20 installed on the MPC ?

No and I already saved a beat I made today, plus a grip of other stuff from old zips. I'll get another CF card and if it doesn't work I'll take it back.

First try to format the card with your new os that should normally solve the problem. Os1.20 has the added feature that media formated on the MPC should be readable on a computer.
