2000 trouble

i used the old school akai mpc 2000 v.1.72(for years). ive had no problems with it untill now. when i start it up it says, "mpc2000 boot rom v.1.0". then makes a weird noise and says "disk read error". im confused to why its trying to load the v.1.0 and not the 1.72. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Download the OS again and put it on a New Floppy Disk. Sometimes the disk become unreadable by the MPC. Now it should load up. If not your drive may need replacing.

1.72 refers to your OS

1.0 refers to your mpc 2000 OP chip, located inside your mpc.
