Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By debo Thu May 11, 2006 6:27 pm
I'm encountering this problem on my 2000xl whereby when I'm tapping out a beat, I can hear perfectly what I'm playing when I'm recording it but when I come to playing it back, one of the pads (the snare for example) is either really quiet or not there at all. I've got velocity set to 100%.

The pad plays fine but I can't understand why it wouldn't be recording it like I'm hearing it.

Could it be a faulty pad?

thanks for your help.

I know i used have to have that problem, maybe the timing when U hit the pad is off,it happens sometimes.Restart ya mpc and then re-record and keep trying it till U get it.Just a suggestion am not an expert.

After recording the notes, check them in the step editor.
There you can see what the MPC has recorded.
Is it always the same pad number that is played back quietly?
If yes, it may directly be caused by the pad, or by the OS.
If nothing helps, try to load a newer operating system.

Get sure that the Q link fader´s "after" mode is deactivated, this mode may cause a reduce of the attack of it´s assigned pad.

If you are monitoring the sounds through the individual outputs, check if the cables are put in correctly.
