Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i have a question, that i haven't figured out yet -

when triggering samples via the pads, how do you get a sound to cut itself off when you hit the pad again ie. hitting a pad with a vocal sample several times to create a stuttering effect instead of a layered effect, know what i'm sayin? is this a GATE issue, is there any way to make this possible?

thanks

in your paramater screen turn the play mode to mono.

Hit Shift+6 (Program), select your drum program and sound via hitting the pad. Hit F2 (PARAMS) and cursor over to Voice Overlap: . Change it from POLY to MONO. This will cut off the sound when you press the pad again. If you set it to NOTE OFF, then the sound will only play through as long as the pad's held down. Hope this helps

Is there any reason why one will not be allowed to change the parameter of a sound? It seems all of mine are set to note off and are not adjustable, yet holding down the pad forces the sample to repeat, sometimes very rapidly for snares and hats and the like. Can this be adjusted another way, or is something wrong?

You need to go back into the trim screen and under loop turn the loop off. Now when you go back to the paramater screen you can change the setting to mono.
